Holy Priest Talents

Circle of Healing (CoH) spec:

This is the most common spec that a holy priest will run. It's very strong when the whole raid takes a lot of damage, where they can really utilize:

Heals the target and 4 injured allies within 30 yards of the target for (159.9% of Spell Power).

Due to their very powerful AOE healing, they should always be assigned to raid healing. CoH priest should always be the very last person to be assigned to tank healing, even after your shamans.

Improved Divine Spirit (IDS) Spec

If we have a lot of healer priests in the roster, and a lot of overheal, the IDS spec can be considered. It gives up the CoH spell, and will focus more on single target healing. It will talent into:

Your Divine Spirit and Prayer of Spirit spells also increase the target's spell damage and healing by an amount equal to 10% of their total Spirit.

Which ultimately means that it will buff the whole raids' healing and damage. If a priest is running IDS, they should be assigned as a tank healer.
